The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Germany is considered an important part of professional practice, and it is considered essential for architects to keep up to date with new technologies or new approaches to different aspects of the profession. It is in most federal states in Germany compulsory, e.g. in Hesse, Saxony, Brandenburg, North-Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Wuerttemberg. Beside private organizations the Architects' Chambers of each federal state (Land) is one of the main organizers of courses, seminars, congresses, etc. As an example of these German CPD-Regulations you can find and download the English version of the CPD-Regulations of the Hesse Chamber of Architects and Town Planners here.
